الـفـتـوى المعتمدة / الـرد: According to the majority of classical scholars from the Ahl as-Sunnah, the reward of reciting the Holy Quran can be gifted to the deceased, and it reaches them by the permission of Allah.

While the safest and most directly emphasized acts in the Sunnah are making Du'a (supplication), giving Sadaqah (charity), and performing Hajj or Fasting if they had unfulfilled vows, reciting Quran and asking Allah to pass the reward to the deceased is structurally permissible and beneficial. It is recommended to follow the recitation with a sincere supplication for the deceased.
